Hang Pictures

Pottery Barn has an area on their website called "design tips". You can find several ideas for transforming your walls there. They also have templates for memory walls that you can download and print.

Here are a couple of tips to keep in mind when hanging picture frames:

1. Before hanging your pictures, cut paper, paper bags, or poster board the same sizes as your frames. Position the papers on the floor in front of your wall to determine the arrangement you want (see the templates above from Pottery Barn for ideas).

2. Hang large pictures at eye level, that is, an average woman's eye level. The middle of the frame should hit between 5'6" and 5'8".

3. The bottom of a frame (in particular, a large frame over a sofa or table) should be no more than 6" above a piece of furniture.

4. Group smaller frames together to create a gallery to cover a large wall space.

5. Once frames are hung and in place, make sure they are level. Then take a piece of painters tape or other adhesive and stick the frame in place on the wall.

6. Don't be afraid to mix and match frames.

7. If you have an assortment of frames but don't like the fact they're all different, consider spray painting them all the same color to give them a uniform look.
