Sew a Hooter Hider or a Sling

Several of my friends are having babies in the next few months, and I thought that getting them a nursing cover, like the Hooter Hider, would be a great gift. Instead of paying $35 plus shipping and handling for one, I decided I would make one myself. That way, I can even choose my own fabric!

What you'll need:
- a basic sewing machine
- 1 yard of fabric (look for scrap or discounted pieces to save money)
- "D" rings, 1- 1 1/2 inch in size
- corset boning, 1/4 inch wide in white or clear
- thread to match your fabric

Check out this site for step-by-step instructions on how to sew your own nursing cover. The first one may take you a little longer (like me!), but the next one (if you decide you'll be making another one) should be much easier.

Slings are also a great gift and are easy to make. Here are the directions.
