Make Cloth Dinner and Cocktail Napkins

Napkins are actually pretty easy to make as long as you have some patience. I made a set of 6 dinner napkins for a friend a few months ago and used the green and white geometric pattern below. The first one took me about 30 minutes because I wasn't exactly sure what I was doing, but once I got the hang of it the others didn't take much time at all.

Materials:
-1 yard of fabric (for 12 napkins 11" square)
-coordinating thread
-scissors
-pen or pencil
-iron

To Make the Napkins:
1. Cut out 12 pieces of fabric 12" x 12" (you should be able to get 4 napkins across the fabric if it's 54" wide, and 3 napkins down)
2. Next, cut the corners out off of each 12" x 12" piece of fabric by cutting a 1/2" square.

3. Now fold in each side 1/4" and iron the fabric in place. Once you've done all 4 sides, fold them in again 1/4" and iron the sides down again. Fold in the corners so that it looks like a miter cut (45 degree angle) so there is a clean edge. Now sew the folded sides in place along the inside edge.
4. Iron the napkins, fold them nicely and give them to a friend!
